Best Tennis Rackets for Beginners

We’ve all been beginners before. My advice is don’t spend too much money to get started when you start but start. What you want is in my opinion is the best starter tennis racket you can buy for your money. Get the best tool per dollar and get out there. My guess is you will catch the bug and eventually buy better gear. You’ll eventually need better rackets, but to get started we want rackets that don’t vibrate your arm off and are as close to the best equipment for the bang for the buck. That’s what we are here to help you with.

If you are a true beginner, I suggest you get an oversized racket. That will help you make the best contact with the ball and make the game easier at the start. If you can’t hit the ball back over the net, you will not enjoy the game. So lets start with that principle and making the game as easy as possible.

Why

This is what I believe you want. A 115 inch oversized racket, that is 3/4″ longer than the standard for under 100 dollars. I played many years with a 28″ longbody and I believe if you start out with a longer 27.75″ you’ll appreciate the extra length. The reach is outstanding and you can generate more power on your shots eventually. As a beginner who is less likely to judge distances as well this will help you get to balls.
This is a real racket unlike the 24 dollar aluminum ones that will vibrate your arm off. Having played with those ultra cheapo’s, If you like the game you’ll be giving those away in no time. I suggest you just go ahead and bite the bullet and spend the extra and save that cost. If you are reading this you’ll probably like the game, and this is a respectable racket that can stay with you for the first few years. You can eventually level up to a more premium, or if you are comfortable you’ll want a second racket if you play a lot because as you start hitting harder you will eventually break strings in the middle of a match. This could be a respectable back up racket as well for a perineum one that you still actually like to play with.
Budget
We don’t think you should go out and overspend on an activity or product you’re not even sure you’ll like. I think you will like it, but there is no reason to break the bank if you aren’t wealthy. Our first option is great, but if you can’t afford that, we have a second more budget friendly racket as well. You can still have lots of fun and compete with our 2nd budget choice.
If our first choice is just a little to much racket, and a little to much for you budget we got the choice for you. This is the floor cost, but still a quality racket to get you in the game. That’s what matters most, that you get out there and play. It will most likely be a lifelong healthy hobby that will give you and friends many hours of enjoyment.
