Fedor Emelianenko is a retired Russian mixed martial artist and former heavyweight champion. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time and is known for his impressive record, which includes victories over many notable fighters.
Emelianenko began his professional fighting career in 2000 and quickly made a name for himself as a dominant force in the sport. He fought for a number of different organizations throughout his career, including Pride Fighting Championships, Strikeforce, and Bellator MMA.
Throughout his career, Emelianenko was known for his impressive grappling skills, as well as his knockout power. He was particularly known for his Sambo background, a Russian martial art that emphasizes throws and submissions. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history, and his legacy has inspired a new generation of fighters around the world.
For my money Fedor Emelianenko is the best fighter that has ever lived, that’s of any discipline. If you threw two guys out on the street for a battle to the death I’d take Fedor at his peak vs anyone. He was 31-1 at one point and the one fight was a doctor stoppage for a cut. He never fought in the UFC, but he dismantled several former champions and won many impressive fights vs quality fighters of his era and freaks of nature. His emotionless stare is probably the best I have ever seen. He just problem-solved in the fight like a mathematician would in class. With the same demeanor no matter how much trouble he was in. It was impressive to follow in those years. Fedor didn’t walk into the arena shredded, he walked in looking like your average UPS driver or guy sitting at the end of the bar or Joe in accounting adding to the legend. When he was young he still looked middle-aged. Dana White once called him the chubby bald guy, and he pretty much was in a world of shredded abs. He’s also probably the greatest fighter that has ever lived.
Incredible.
