Nexus World Golf Rankings

With the LIV tour not being given world ranking points this is our attempt to rank the current golf landscape post PGA Championship.

We will start by removing the divisor in the Offical World Golf Rankings. That’s the minimum number of tournaments you have to play, and if you don’t meet the threshold you are penalized. As you can see just making that one adjustment Brooks moves from 13th officially to 7th. Cam Smith from 8th to 5th and Phil from 79th to 25th. Considering these players are being penalized for not playing removing that gives us a more fair look.

That doesn’t tell the full story though as the Official World Ranking points they have are mostly aged from and devalued as well. I don’t think you should count LIV tournaments as much as PGA Tour events but strong finishes should have some value. Looking at the recent LIV tour finishes with a general idea of the strength of the field, these seem like fair adjustments.
